FREE Pizza! Who wants one? Hungry Howie’s Has One For You
Posted by Life on the Scene in Charity, Food, Fundraisers on October 14, 2013
Hungry Howie’s pizza is offering up a free small cheese pizza to customers this week who head over to their Facebook page, like the page and submit their name & email address for the coupon to be emailed to you. The catch is, you have to get the pizza this week as the coupon expires this Thursday, October 17, 2013 at close of business.
You can visit their webpage for a list of locations to see if there is one near you. When you complete the form on their Facebook page it does require you to select your store location so if yours isn’t on that list then it isn’t part of the promotion. A free little pizza sounds like a quick dinner option to me this week! Just add some garlic bread and a salad at home and you’re all set.
Hungry Howie’s is also a big support of the National Breast Cancer Foundation so your “like” on their Facebook page during the month of October will also generate a donation to the NBCF. There is also a donation link directly on the page if you care to donate more to a great cause.
Sunday Morning – Waffles and Maroon 5

Sunday morning is always a time we take to sleep in and relax, one of the few days of the week we have time to cook a big breakfast and enjoy it. This time I went with a Sunday Brunch feel, using just the supplies I had on hand. I whipped up some homemade waffles with a little help from my ever faithful Bisquick (their site is now offering a coupon for 50 cents off). I followed their basic waffle recipe, adding a touch of vanilla & a few sprinkles of cinnamon as I normally do with most baked goods.
When the waffles were ready, I added a generous scoop of Dreyer’s Vanilla Ice Cream, a handful of blueberries (I always keep a bag in the freezer from Costco) and drizzled Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup over the top. I served it with sides of breakfast meat – bacon & sausage (apologies to my vegetarian friends) are favorites in our household and tall glasses of Simply Orange orange juice. We added syrup to the mix as we dug in and devoured the tasty creation! It was a quick simple meal that was hearty & warm on a day that promises rain.
The critic, my 9-year-old daughter, said “I can imagine you making this every morning for breakfast”. Imagine being the key word! I think this meal was a winner. Do you have a favorite recipe to share? A weekend tradition? Send them in and we’ll share with Life On The Scene readers!
On a side note, we had the Dreyer’s Vanilla Ice Cream on hand to use with our Halloween candy. Vanilla isn’t typically the flavor of choice in our household but we’ve found it to be a fun & creative way to use up the Halloween candy – by mixing in chopped up Reese’s peanut butter cups or Snickers bars, just like the Blizzards you get at Dairy Queen!
Another bit of Sunday enjoyment is turning on some relaxing music and just letting it flow through the house. A favorite is Maroon 5 who have their latest release, Hands All Over, available now via iTunes. Maroon 5 is currently finishing up a tour of the United States before they head to Europe next year. I’ll leave you with their classic, Sunday Morning. Enjoy!
New Printable Coupons for Idahoan Potatoes and Ronzoni Pasta
Posted by Life on the Scene in Coupons/Freebies on October 7, 2010

There are two coupons available for Idahoan Potatoes! If you head over to Facebook and “like” Idahoan Potatoes, you can find a high value $1.00 off printable coupon on their coupon tab. Purchase at stores like Wal-Mart or Target, you will likely get this item for free or very close to it!
The second coupon, .75¢ off three pouches, can be found on their website. While this one isn’t the best deal out there, it can be helpful when stocking up during a sale!
I’m not a huge fan of instant potatoes myself, but I have found the flavored varieties to be a great dry goods staple to have on hand. I enjoy mixing up recipes and trying to new things. Often when I make mashed potatoes, I will add a small amount of a flavored instant potato mix like Idahoans’ Roasted Garlic which adds a nice hint of flavor without being overwhelming (and the kids like it too).
Ronzoni Pasta also has a Facebook coupon available when you “like” them here. It’s $1.00 off of any box of their Healthy Harvest line. Again, finding a good grocery store sale or stopping by Wal-Mart or Target to pick up this pasta will give you a great deal or possibly free pasta! Please let us know if you find a great sale on Ronzoni.
Ronzoni Pasta also has two different coupons available via their website here, $1.00 off two boxes.
Remember to hit the back button when you print and you can usually get two coupons. What deals have you found this week?
