Finnish platinum selling band HIM (vocalist Ville Valo, guitarist Mikko “Linde” Lindström, Mikko “Migé” Paananen, Janne “Burton” Puurtinen on keyboards and Mika “Gas” Karppinen on drums) have been a cultural phenomenon in the alternative rock world for over two decades, now they are excited to announce the upcoming release of an exclusive limited edition boxset ‘Lashes To Ashes, Lust To Dust’: A Vinyl Retrospective ’96-’03 on November 25th via The End Records. The boxset includes the rare debut 1996 EP ‘666 Ways To Love: Prologue” on 180 gram heavy weight vinyl for the first time ever, along with an exclusive Heartagram logo slipmat and a USB drive with 37 bonus tracks, 80 tracks all together, all re-mastered. Also to be released on November 25th, four of their iconic albums, ‘Greatest Love Songs Vol. 666’, ‘Razorblade Romance’, ‘Deep Shadows And Brilliant Highlights’, and ‘Love Metal’ will be released in multiple configurations, all re-mastered with bonus tracks, exclusive liner notes, and special packaging.
A must for any diehard HIM fan, these deluxe vinyl (in crushed velvet cases and colored vinyl to match each album’s art work) and boxset releases can be ordered in time for Christmas here and dont’ forget to check your local independent music store like Hollywood’s Amoeba Records to grab your copy.
HIM have also scheduled a couple of weeks of global concert appearances for the end of the year to promote ‘Lashes To Ashes, Lust To Dust’: A Vinyl Retrospective ’96-’03 which will culminate at home in Finland as they perform at their annual Helldone New Year’s Eve concert. Finnish ticket agency Tiketti is giving away a pair of tickets to the always instantly sold out New Year’s Eve bash on their Facebook page but sadly it doesn’t include the airfare to Finland! Click on the “see translation” button if you don’t read Finnish. Good luck to those who enter! This California girl has long-held onto the dream of going to Finland for Helldone on New Year’s Eve.

Camp Freddy Live at the Roxy and Gearing Up for the West of Memphis Soundtrack
Posted by jade in Celebrity, Concert, Movie Review, Music on December 20, 2012

Dave Navarro interviewing author Damien Echols
Apparently his week-long run performing as the titular character in the musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch at the Roxy in November was not enough for Donovan Leitch. This Thursday, the 20th, Donovan returns to the famous Hollywood club as Camp Freddy begin their sixth annual holiday residency. As expected the three consecutive nights sold out as fans eagerly await not only the band, but also the unexpected guests who join them. Given that Camp Freddy’s members are the aforementioned actor / singer Donovan Leitch, Billy Morrison (The Cult, Billy Idol band), Matt Sorum (Guns N Roses, Velvet Revolver, The Cult, Neurotic Outsiders), Steve Stevens (Billy Idol) and Jane’s Addiction’s Dave Navarro and Chris Chaney, it is not a surprise that there are many friends of the band that join them to perform. Considering that guests have included Billy Idol, Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols (who was also Sorum’s band mate in Neurotic Outsiders), Slash, Kid Rock, Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Macy Grey, there is no telling who will show up to join the band on stage.
For those of us who were unable to get tickets for the show, we can get through the season knowing that we can purchase the soundtrack for West of Memphis which will include Camp Freddy’s cover of David Bowie’s “The Jean Genie.” The documentary film, directed by Amy J. Berg (the Academy Award nominated Deliver Us from Evil), follows the case of Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley, Jr., collectively known as the “West Memphis Three.” Echols, Baldwin and Misskelley, Jr. were arrested and convicted as teenagers for the murders of three children in West Memphis, AR in the mid-nineties. Although DNA evidence collected ultimately exonerated the trio, they spent 18 years in jail, with Echols serving a death sentence, while Baldwin and Misskelley received life imprisonment sentences. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the soundtrack will be used to raise funds for the exoneration of Echols, Baldwin and Misskelley, Jr.
Damien Echols, one of the producers of West of Memphis, released his critically acclaimed autobiography, Life After Death, earlier this year.
West of Memphis will be in selected theaters on Tuesday, December 25th. The soundtrack will be released through Sony Legacy on January 15, 2013.
Here’s a look back at some previous Camp Freddy shows to get you pumped up for this weekend’s Christmas residency at the Roxy. If you make it to the shows, we’d love to hear about your experience in the comments below. Or post a link to your photos and videos of the Camp Freddy shows!

If you are on a PC once the coupon starts printing, remember to hit the back button and you should be able to print it twice. Now watch your local grocery store for a great sale on Challenge butter! Wal-Mart and Target generally carry this item at a great everyday low price too. Remember, prices vary by region. Let us know if you score a super deal on butter.
After you have printed your high dollar $2.00 off Challenge butter coupon, click the drop down arrow toward the top of the page where it says “save $2” and there are links for a variety of other butter coupons for various regions and stores in the United States. Even more ways to save money!
The Incredible Edible Egg on Facebook has reset their .55/2 dozen Eggs coupon , and of course you have to “like” their page to gain access to the coupon . Speaking of Target, I scored a great deal on household items, pet food and groceries today with a variety of coupons that resulted in a $43.00 savings off my bill and I received the $10.00 gift card after spending $50.00 so I already have a credit towards my next trip to Target! Camp Freddy Reveal Christmas Residency Details
Posted by Life on the Scene in Concert, Music on November 3, 2010
Camp Freddy, the Los Angeles based jam band consisting of Billy Morrison (Billy Idol/The Cult), Dave Navarro (Janes Addiction/The Panic Channel), Matt Sorum (Guns N Roses/Velvet Revolver), Donovan Leitch (son of legendary folk singer Donovan), and Chris Chaney (Janes Addiction/Alanis Morrisette), will once again take over the Roxy on Sunset for a string of Christmas dates during December. Today, the band announced they will play three shows, on December 3rd, 10th and 17th at the Roxy. Tickets go on sale this Friday, November 5th via the Roxy and Ticketmaster. Ticket prices are $20 per show + fees and there are a very limited number of VIP packages available for $90 + fees which admit you to all three shows, give you the opportunity to attend a soundcheck, and have a meet & greet with the band.
Recent special guests for some of Camp Freddy’s private gigs have included Sammy Hagar, Duff McKagan, Steve Stevens and Macy Gray. There hasn’t been any indication of ‘themed’ nights such as last year’s 70’s, 80’s & 90’s themed weeks or who the guests will be. Your guess is as good as mine but one thing is for certain, don’t delay in grabbing those tickets this Friday because they will go quickly!

There may still be a handful of tickets left for these upcoming Billy Idol shows across California! Why not treat someone to an early holiday gift or great night out?
Tickets are on sale now for all shows via Ticketmaster/Live Nation.

Tune in to Mark & Brian on KLOS 95.5 every morning as they are sure to have an interview with Billy Idol before the big Christmas show and likely to give away some great concert tickets to the event.
Billy Idol will close out 2010 with a handful of Holiday shows in mid December around California including:
-
Wed 12/15 San Diego, CA: House of Blues
-
Thurs 12/16 Los Angeles, CA : Nokia Theater

Tickets are on sale now for all shows via Ticketmaster/Live Nation.
Billy Idol also has his self-penned memoir, Dancing With Myself, in the works which is due out from Touchstone, a division of Simon & Schuster in late 2011 or early 2012. Idol has never shied away from the truth of his rock & roll lifestyle so this is likely to be a great tell all unlike many of the glossed over auto-biographies we tend to see.
Idol also debuted several new tracks during his summer 2010 tour including one called Love Is Strange. Expect a new album & tour by the end of next year as well.
