Downey plays Peter Highman, an expectant first-time father whose wife’s due date is only days away. As he hurries to catch a flight home to Los Angeles from Atlanta to be at her side for the birth, his best intentions go completely awry when a chance encounter with aspiring actor and disaster-magnet Ethan Tremblay (Galifianakis) leads to the two of them being tossed off the plane and placed on a no-fly list.
With no alternatives in sight, Peter is forced to hitch a ride with Ethan and his French bulldog on what turns out to be a cross-country road trip that will destroy several cars, numerous friendships and Peter’s last nerve.
The comedy also stars Michelle Monaghan, Juliette Lewis and Academy Award® winner Jamie Foxx. The film will open on November 5, 2010. Early reviews and theater audience reaction to the trailer have been great. This movie looks to be another sure-fire hit for Downey.
Camp Freddy is gearing up for their annual Christmas residency, a series of club shows in Los Angeles that always feature a diverse rock & roll lineup with an equally eclectic audience packed in to see their performances.
The Christmas 2010 dates will be released soon so keep an eye on what Dave Navarro and Billy Morrison have to say! Previous guests have included Steve Stevens, Chester Bennington, Macy Gray, Steve Jones, Travis Barker, Chrissie Hynde, Cypress Hill, Billy Idol, Steven Tyler, Joan Jett and the list goes on and on. You never know who will show up to these shows! They are almost guaranteed to sell out so be sure to grab a ticket quickly.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (part 1) doesn’t hit theaters until November 19th, but many theaters have already started selling tickets for midnight screenings. Fandango is offering them in some areas and most major cities should have them available shortly if they aren’t already listed. Enter your zip code to check your area!
The final two-part journey in the Harry Potter series is indeed a bittersweet one. For more than a decade Harry Potter has shaped the world, encouraged young readers to dive into books and live in the fantasy world of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry. As the movies have developed, we’ve watched the young actors, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson grow into young adults.
As much as I’m looking forward to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on the big screen in November, I dread the last movie in July 2011. Harry Potter will always live on in our home but we will miss not reading about new adventures in the lives of these fabulous characters.

This movie is the perfect mixture of adventure, comedy and friendship that leaves you wanting your own dragon by the end of the movie.
Hiccup (voice by Jay Baruchel) is the skinny, inquisitive boy who constantly fails at all attempts to be a proper Viking. His father, chief Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler), has pretty much given up on his teenage son and apprenticed him to blacksmith Gobber (Craig Ferguson). Worse, Hiccup knows the village loser hasn’t a chance of impressing Astrid (America Ferrera), the girl of his dreams and a formidable dragon fighter in her own right. When one of Hiccup’s inventions actually works, he hasn’t the heart to kill the young dragon he’s brought down. He names it Toothless and befriends it, although he’s been taught to fear and loathe dragons. Hiccup uses his newly found knowledge to help his village fend off a dragon attack and change the minds of some stalwart old Vikings.
This movie is rated PG: suitable for ages 8 and older, violence, some intense action and scary dragons so preview and/or discuss it with younger children before allowing them to view it.

All for $16.99 with Safeway/Vons card! I haven’t checked Albertsons yet but they typically offer these DVD deals as well.
Valid 10/15/10 – 10/31/10 on single DVD only (not Blu-ray).
Best Buy, Target and Wal-Mart always have great sales the first week of a DVD/Blu-ray release as well but the best deal by far is the grocery store deal that includes free snacks with your movie.

Warner Bros.Life As We Know It starring Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel is now in theaters. It’s the story of two single adults who become caregivers to an orphaned baby girl when their mutual best friends die in an accident. The film also features Melissa McCarthy in a hilarious supporting role and Josh Lucas as the ideal boyfriend. McCarthy’s comedic timing is sheer genius and she’s been fabulous in her recent roles on Samantha Who and the new hit TV comedy Mike & Molly.
This PG-13 film (for some sexual material, language and some drug content) is a hilarious and emotional ride as we watch these two single adults without a clue in the world how to care for a baby, bumble through their new lives as they discover this is what they were looking for all along. Josh Duhamel is an excellent leading man in this laugh out loud funny and heart wrenching movie.
It’s a great role to see Katherine Heigl move on from her Grey’s Anatomy days. She’s also been busy raising her baby and supporting her Heigl Foundation by recently donating $1 million to the Compassion Revolution to support spay & neuter efforts in the greater Los Angeles area.

The second single from Linkin Park‘s new album, A Thousand Suns is Waiting for the End. The video is out today on MTV.com.
A Thousand Suns evokes the feel of an apocalyptic world, full of dark emotion and melancholy. As a long time fan of Linkin Park, this one has been a challenge for me. The vocals by Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda are strong, the musicianship excellent on an album with an overall feeling of despair. Reviews across the board have been mixed, some calling it their best work yet while others are left wondering what the band has actually been working on for the last two years.
For this reviewer, I will classify this one as a grower – a new piece of music I add into the mix, encouraging myself to give it a few listens and let it grow on me. I’m curious to see how this album translates into a live show. The new songs are blending well into rock radio though, and generating a lot of talk.
A Thousand Suns is out now on iTunes. Watch Link Park’s site for news on tour information.
